The tool most people don't get to choose.

A little bit of unemployment is a good thing. It frees up your schedule so you can get things done that have been hanging around on your to do list for far too long. One example for me is my website. It’s not done yet, and updating it and perfecting it will obviously be a line item on my list of things to do for the rest of my life. But hopefully I will find time here and there to make it better. In my daily job search, I’m learning something interesting. That is it seems like CADpackages other than Solidworks are gaining popularity. Of course I have a very limited view of the CAD industry as a whole. This is just my personal observation. But lately, I have been seeing job postings that require Onshape, Creo and NX. And believe it or not, I’ve even seen some that ask for AutoCAD experience. I love Solidworks, but I would jump at the chance to use a different CAD package for my job. If my list of things to do completely evaporates because I’m so efficient with my free time, I may just dive into a new CAD package to learn. Any suggestions? Which would you like to learn?
